Millions of internal migrant workers in India migrate each year, often with their families, in search of employment in the country's informal sector. Many migrants and informal workers face barriers in accessing essential government social security schemes and benefits. Jan Sahas Social Development Society works to address these barriers by enabling migrants and informal workers to access and unlock the government schemes they are entitled to.
Our efforts focus on strengthening the delivery systems of priority social security schemes and facilitating direct access to government benefits for vulnerable communities. By improving awareness, access, and uptake of these schemes, we aim to enhance household welfare, which eventually will strengthen the resilience of migrant and informal-worker households.
